Using ubuntu since 7.04

Watchtower Library experienced a problem and can’t continue.

After installing Watchtower Library on Ubuntu I couldn’t get it started – I would get this error message: “Watchtower Library experienced a problem and cannot continue.”

I ended up uninstalling WT Library and Wine and reinstalling about 10 to 15 times.

Finally I got it to work, thought I am not sure why.

The last thing that I did was to reinstall Wine:

  • System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager
  • Searched for wine
  • and then I REINSTALLED it.

That seemed to fix it and since then I have been able to use Watchtower Reader on Ubuntu :-D Watchtower Library still produces the error mentioned above.

  1. I too had the same experience I went to the WINE site and followed the advice by another, to get the latest copy of WINE and install the MS truetype core fonts for web package by installing msttcorefonts which is done through Synaptic package manager ……fired up WT2007 and away it went in Ubuntu 8.04, with Desktop Icon and all….love it.
